It's Taken Me All This Time To Find Out What I Need
Things are going. We squeegeed the walls and I'm pleased to report that my idea worked out exactly the way I thought it would (how often does that happen?) and the paneling looks noticeably better. We have to tackle the last bits of painting and any wood-cutting that needs to be done tonight so we can put away the paints and the tarps and the saws tonight. Tomorrow we'll try to get all the garbage outside and to the curb for a Thursday morning pickup, and then Thursday night Empire Carpet is coming to the house to measure the rooms and give us an estimate for the carpeting we want for the living room and bedroom. After that's in, the place will look completely different, I just know it, and we can start buying more furniture. At the very least we can get the bed set up; I've owned this really gorgeous bedding set and luxurious sheets for over a year now (I'll never forget, they were delivered on the Friday of AnimeNEXT last year), and the mattress and box spring arrived on Sunday, so I'll finally get to see what it all looks like put together. I think that will make me feel a lot better--the bedroom really is more my domain, ha ha ha.

I hope Marvel wasn't serious last night when he said not to put this in LiveJournal, but I told him I was going to, so oh well. He accidentally got a bit of white paint on his dress shirt, so I told him to take it off right away and see if he could scrub it out before it set. He was able to, but of course that got a lot of his shirt damp so I needed to lend him a T-shirt. I tossed him my Superman T-shirt because that's probably the least girlie T-shirt I own, and then stared at him for a moment and marveled out loud about how nice it made his chest look. He immediately struck the Superman pose, fists on hips looking off into the distance, and sang,

"Da da-da-da-da, da da! Da da-da-da-da, da da!"

LOL. Epic Geek Fail. He tried to play it off like he meant to do that, but in his defense...we have been working like illegal immigrants picked up outside the Home Depot to work in Marvel and Crissy's Subterranean Work Camp. (Credit for that joke belongs to [info]agent0033. Now you know what I saw in him. LOL.)
