SailorStar _____ brings to mind images of the Senshis in black vinyl bikinis, so I go with Eternal Sailor _____.

I *think* that's what they were referred to as in the original manga, but since I can't read Japanese I'm not entirely sure.

Yeah, I wish I could get some proof either way! Although I think people would still stick with whatever they are most comfortable with, regardless of what's "correct".

I say Eternal because that's the way I learned and that's the way I'm sticking. Besides, I've never heard them referred to as SailorStar.

Where did you learn Eternal? That's what I learned, too, but mine came from Setsuna Kou, and I don't think everyone learned from her (although I could be wrong.)

I think Sailor Star was something that only came up in the manga, (well, that is a silly statment seeing that this form was only in the manga). With the translations I remember reading growing up (Tokyopop/Mix) they called them Sailor Stars like once and that was it... I'm pretty sure Eternal caught on from the name Sailor Moon's form was given. With the manga being discontinued, there are a ton of fans out there who haven't read it all the way through~ example being you still get the occasional person who thinks Sailor Cosmos is Sailor Moon.

I don't even know if it was in the American translations, but I couldn't say for certain about the Japanese originals.

Yes, that makes sense.

Isn't she? In the manga, anyway? http://www.usagiandmamoru.com/cosmos/cosmostruth.html

I've seen people refer to them as "Star" only on really bad fan sites (Note: I am not bashing ALL sites that call them "star" because, frankly, I haven't seen them all. In fact, I haven't looked at many fan sites in YEARS); never in person/straight from someone's mouth.

I call them "eternal" because they look very much like "Eternal Sailor Moon." Just because their brooches are a certain shape doesn't override their overall appearance, IMO.

As for the manga calling them "star"? Never seen it (unless it's in a translation different from the ones I have *shrugg*), but it seems pretty far-fetched of an idea. I would think that if that's what Naoko intended for them to be called, she would have written out the spelling of "Sailor Star senshinameperson" and therefore it would be in ALL translations. Granted, I don't think she says "eternal" either, but then again, I don't think she even referred to them as "Super Sailor senshinameperson" in their super forms.* I think it's generally a fan representation of the transformation, just so we all know what we're talking about.

*I am not absolutely sure beyond a shadow of a doubt of the accuracy of this statement. Just...mostly sure. Like, 90%. See? Margin for error. :D

You know, for a long time I've wanted to make an entry asking people to tell about (and if still around, link to) their favorite Sailor Moon sites that they used to visit all the time; I wonder if I could even remember mine anymore. (I might still have them in my AOL favorites, for all I know!)

Very true.

Oh, it's definitely not in the US-licensed ones; I think they just call them "Sailor" whatever, you know?

but it seems pretty far-fetched of an idea. Yeah, actually having them refer to each other as "Super Sailor" whatever was really only in the anime, I don't think it was in the manga at all.

I think it's generally a fan representation of the transformation, just so we all know what we're talking about.

That's a good point, too.

Mmm, that is true, it helps for a more unified, team meaning. The other senshi got to be Super Sailor Senshi after Sailor Moon because Super Sailor Moon, it makes sense that they became Eternal when Sailor Moon became Eternal Sailor Moon.

Well, to be fair, they don't always have the wings, just in one of the artbook pictures (or was it in two? No, I think the second one I'm thinking of they were in Super form with the wings, around Pegasus.)
